Rod is the Vicar at St Stephen’s Anglican Church in North Balwyn, in Melbourne’s Eastern suburbs. His desire is to help people become followers of Jesus and grow to maturity in their faith. Rod grew up on a diary farm but spent much of his time on the beach at Kiama NSW. He came to faith through the youth ministry of the local Anglican Church. Rod has been married to Karen since 1988, and they have two children. In his spare time Rod enjoys family activities, reading, cinema, soccer, and holidays at the beach.
He studied Economics and Business at ANU and then worked in Retail management for Woolworths and Management Development for Telstra. He has a Masters degree in Adult Education. Rod developed a love for Christian ministry through involvement with the Australian Fellowship of Evangelical Students and has worked in student ministry in Sydney, Melbourne, Spain and Belgium. Rod was ordained in Melbourne in 2003 and has an enduring interest in training and equipping people for Christian ministry, particularly in the areas of bible study groups, evangelism, and Christian leadership.
